More about Jen :)

So what is there to know? Well, I love people! Especially one certain man named Josh who has been my best friend and hero...I mean, husband for over 21 years now and the beautiful children we have been blessed with! I love being able to photograph the connection between people and the beauty that they have inside and out! The time in a student's life before the end of their High School year, finally a senior! The awkward years for a child when they are about to be a teen and not really a kid anymore...helping that "tween" really gain confidence in who they are by seeing beautiful photographs of themselves. The wedding day of two people crazy in love who can't wait to get to the honeymoon (oh man, remember that like it was yesterday, not 20 years ago!). Kids running around crazy with parents who think they aren’t cooperating...I live that everyday...so that doesn’t phase me and I love to capture the realness of your children and family on camera so you can look back and remember how crazy and fun that stage of life is! This is what I love!

If I could choose one place to have a gift card or to win a shopping spree it would be an office supply store! Yep, that’s what I said, office supplies...the wonder of gel pens in medium or fine blue, pinks, purples, and black and mechanical pencils, Sharpee markers and highlighters and oh, the joy of sticky notes, all colors and shapes and sizes of sticky notes...makes me think of how God made you and me...wonderfully and joyfully and different, in all different shapes and sizes! That’s what Psalm 139 talks about and why my business is named what it is--because God made each of us fearfully and wonderfully and I want to showcase that amazing, beautiful creative creation to the world! Oooh, to put those together is a good day...my Bible, a nice pen and a cute journal or notebook or colorful sticky notes, a bit of good worship music and a cup of Winterberry or my special Teavana blended tea...ahhh! Oh wait, don't forget the water...if I don’t have a water bottle or cup of water with me, something is definitely wrong! It’s even better with lemon in it! ;)

Snuggling with my husband, goofing with my kids, listening to them laugh and watching their eyes sparkle in the light of the window while they play or eat is so amazingly good! I sometimes just want to eat them all up because they are so cute!!! BUT then they remind me that if I did that they’d be all gone, and that would be sad!!

Currently we are headed to the Chisago Lakes area of Minnesota just north of the Twin Cities. It will be fun to be so close to Minneapolis and St. Paul and even Stillwater, MN for all the activities! For the previous 5 years we got to make our home in Ashland, WI (northern Wisconsin woods on Lake Superior). Where's Ashland? Right on Lake Superior! (insert puffy heart!!!) We're still not too far from Duluth, MN, but about 3 hours from Bayfield and the Apostle Islands including Madeline Island.  We're leaving where people vacation but hope to be back often to the Lake we love. Before that we were from a truly small town in Illinois! There was ONE stoplight in the whole county! Yep. Seriously! My kids were fascinated by all the stoplights the first weekend we moved to Ashland...which to us was a city (even though everyone says Ashland is a small town...8000 people compared to 450, it's BIG to us!!)! Now in Lindstrom where we live and North Branch where my husband will work, we truly are going to be experiencing Big Twin City Suburbs, TRAFFIC and even an outlet mall! My teenage girl might just love that part a bit!

One of the best things about being a photographer is that my wonderful families and seniors that I get to photograph help me to discover more and more of the beauty of the areas we get to live!

2010 (I'm guessing! ugh...bad mama!) This is one of my favorite family photographs! "Thing 4" is wearing my favorite sweater that I think went through all three boys. My poor daughter ("Thing 1")! She'd be completely squashed if we did this now as "Thing 2" is taller and heavier than she is by quite a bit now and they are 4 years apart! I love how most everyone is laughing!
