Spinning plates?

So do you have a lot of plates spinning?

One January a long time ago our family enjoyed this very slow, very quiet month. There were no “fires” to put out at church, there were few events at school…I'm not sure how it felt so calm and peaceful, but it VERY much was and I was sad each January afterwards when it didn't repeat. This year, my oldest son, a senior, got a positive C-19 test (again) and life sort of came to a halt. We had to cancel life and gatherings and appointments or move them to zoom. And…things have been kinda quiet. One of the things we did that long ago January was watch movies or shows together. It's something I love 2nd to playing games (but Josh sort of doesn't like games)…so this month, I started watching a series on Netflix and instead of watching on my phone, miraculously everyone came up and sat and watched with me (there might have been a bit of arm twisting ;) ). But, now each night we're all sitting together watching the same thing. I really have come to NOT like what I call parallel watching. This has been a treat for me! Sometimes Josh makes popcorn, sometimes we're eating leftover andes candies or eating dinner while we watch. Tonight we actually ate dinner at the table and then went to the couch. Sometimes we're just hanging out with kitties in our laps.

The boys are trying to finish up their term 3 while working from home - not totally an easy feat but they're getting there. Personally I'm learning a new make-up line, trying it out, as well as growing my hair out and trying to train it to go longer between washes - did you know this was a thing?? I did not until recently!

My current Bible Study is wrapping up soon and I need to decide on the many great options before us for the next one. It's one of the highlights of my week!

I've been trying to work on 2022 planning and goal setting but already plans are being altered and adjusted because of the world we live in. Josh and I had a marriage retreat planned for our wedding couples but are postponing that. We might have some virtual things in the works…hopefully coming this Spring!

I did get to do a tiny little outdoor headshot session today for an upcoming business owner launching a Clutter Coach Consulting business! I might just need to be her first client! Also, I've been updating my own WEBSITE (please check it out and let me know if anything needs fixing and how it looks!), google analytics, etc and researching the next steps to design a new site for a brand new wedding and event venue opening about 1.5 hours northwest of me in Hillman, Minnesota. I'm excited!! I'll be sure to keep you posted! I'll need some editorial eyes to check for errors before it launches. How amazing to be a part of other creative entrepreneurs' dreams! Eeek!

Friday or Saturday, as long as I continue to test negative, and my new contacts arrive, I will be leaving the house to all the guys (yikes! someone might want to rescue them from pizza, pop and nerf wars) and heading down to Illinois to hang out with my sister and her family while she recovers and takes care of their #7! :) I have a feeling it won't be quieter than here (and it gets loud here) and I will have to figure out a new sleep schedule (it's currently 2 am while I'm writing this…this is my natural work time but I have been wanting to try to reset again and go to bed earlier and get up earlier — Lord, I guess you're answering that prayer in a very quick way! :) ).

Busy, right? That’s the life of running a creative studio and a family, while in ministry! There’s always so much happening and life moves far too fast, but I don't want to forget to recognize how awesome you are and to keep you in the loop!

We are so excited about allll the things we’ve got going on—and coming up. We hope you’ll be the biggest part of it!

Thank you for joining me in the pursuit of creativity.

March 2nd update…I did get to go to Illinois and see one my moms and hang out with 3 nieces and 3 nephews all 9 and under plus two small dogs (*remember I have 4 cats!). At the end of that wonderful and whirlwind of a week I got to meet my newest niece and she is beautiful! I took a few “lifestyle” shots while the big kids were waiting to get to meet baby sister for the first time (after time in the NICU), and then of the kids and one of the grandmas holding her for the first time! It was precious! Check it out! (click on the photo to see it bigger)
