Perfection at Pondview

Congratulations to Missy and Brendan! They were gifted the MOST BEAUTIFUL WEATHER for their wedding day! It was a gorgeous day sandwiched between two very hot days over Labor Day weekend. Brendan and Missy (and all their helpers) planned and hosted a super gorgeous, meaningful and fun wedding celebration!

When I was a little girl I used to draw dresses - wedding dresses, prom dresses, princess dresses, Barbie dresses. I thought I was a dress designer. Well, for my wedding many years ago, I thought it would be less expensive and able to be exactly what I wanted if I worked with a seamstress to design my wedding dress. We did and it was beautiful - but not as cost effective as I hoped. It was puffy on the bottom - but not as puffy as I had always dreamed. Remember the dress in The Wedding Planner? When she climbs in the Taxi and he has to help stuff all of her dress in there with her - that’s the “puffy” I dreamt of! Maybe that’s why I love weddings so much…getting to see all the amazing dresses! Missy’s was a dream dress! She was laughing at me gushing at her about it. I not-so-secretly hope I can try it on someday if it would ever fit!! (*Abby Weber, if you ever read this, that goes for your dress too!!)

First looks at weddings are so beneficial. They allow the bride and groom to get more of their wedding photos done before the wedding so they can get to their guests faster after the ceremony. They seriously help calm any nerves of whomever is the most nervous. It can significantly help the timeline of the day go faster as well. They can be a risk in taking away the specialness of the moment when the groom sees the bride for the first time as she walks down the aisle though. NOT for Missy and Brendan. I have to say their First Look was the sweetest in all of eternity! ;) Missy, you’ll have to let me know if you expected Brendan’s reaction to be as big as it was. I certainly was surprised. Brendan couldn’t hold back his tears when he saw his bride for the first time that beautiful day and the tears just kept popping back to the surface as we walked around the beautiful Pondview Farm Wedding Venue. It was the sweetest thing to have this macho dude in camo and jeans just so expressive in an emotional way about how beautiful his bride was and how in love he is with her (that’s my interpretation anyway - for all I know he had allergies really bad or a rock in his boot! ;) )!

You two!! I just love learning these things about you!!

What’s your love story?

We met through a mutual friend. The first night we spent time together was at the Almelund Thrashing show, we spent the night talking and getting to know each other. A few days after we went on an actual first date just the two of us, we had dinner at The Bonfire in Blaine. Brendan proposed to me at his dads house on May 2,2021. We went over for a dinner; my mom, her husband Chris, my dad Ron, Brendan’s dad Scott, his wife Karen, his brother Rob, his grandma Sue and our kids were all there! Just before we ate dinner, he told me to come over to him to look at something and he got down on his knee and proposed!

Missy, what are three things you love about your fiance?

1. His ability to act like a huge goofball any time, anywhere and he doesn’t care what anyone thinks. It makes going to do anything quite an adventure! 2. He can make me smile no matter what kind of mood I’m in! 3. He is a total family man!

Brendan, what are three things you love about your fiance?

  1. I love her amazing and wonderful personality. 2. Her incredible ability to make me feel loved and wanted at any point 3. She is the strongest, smartest, reliable, dependable, and most amazing woman that I have ever met. There isn’t anything that she can’t do. She’s the full package!

Name your 3 favorite things to do together: Grocery shopping, eating food, having deep conversations about any and all topics, going on walks.

What do you think is unique about you as a couple? We work as a team!
